Weight Loss and Diets?

apple125x125I’ve been through this a lot of times and I’m sure you have too. I know you’ve been working out and losing weight only to gain it all back when you break your routine to either go on a short vacation or maybe even when you catch a cold and not able to work out for a couple of weeks. Just trying to get back into the routine is difficult. Have you tried the different diets from the Cabbage Diet, South Beach, Atkins and Weight Watchers to NutriSystem? I would say you tried a few and it works for awhile, then it stops working as you start to fall off the wagon. As time go by and you’re not active, you start to gain weight and most of the time the weight gain is a lot more than before you started your diet.

Years ago diets had a limit to the amount of days that you could stay on it and still be safe to follow. In today’s world we found that the word diet is more of a lifestyle choice by the individual. People who diet have a hard time sticking with it because of the environment surrounding them and the day to day temptations. Everyone wants the good old burrito or cheese burger but still want the weight loss to go with it. You really need to balance your choice of foods; get back into a daily exercise routine and losing weight will be a thing of the past. Little changes daily from eliminating energy drinks, switching to low-calorie dressing and eating more fruits and vegetables will help you with permanent life changing weight loss goals. If you think this is a little too fast and drastic, take it slower by finding healthy and delicious foods that you can live with and slowly give up your bad habits one at a time.

Losing weight will not be over night; after all it took you sometime to put on the weight that you want to lose. Only you can make it happen. It comes down to you and only you to make up your mind, be comfortable with your decision and take that step to a better and “Healthier You”.

So true I stop working out for three weeks and I gain 10 pounds just by not working out it’s been so hard to lose them again, is good to know I’m not alone.

I’m going to a nutrition seminar Friday night and then on to a 10 day program mid August, hopefully this program will give me more insight about preparation and types of foods to eat. It will be a lifestyle change for me.

A healthy, balanced diet is certainly the key. We’ve been taught, for so long, the “3 square meals a day” theory and we’re not finding out that this is NOT the way to eat, especially if you are working out on a regular basis. Great post!
